Project Activity
In September 2009, Apollo recruited 30 people from Triax and other Neighbourhood Renewal areas of Derry to participate in an innovative one-year training programme to increase essential skills and confidence of groups experiencing significant employment gaps.
Apollo offers participants an opportunity to undertake training in accredited and non- accredited programmes. Participants have been actively engaging in:
- Essential Skills- Numeracy and Literacy
- Arts in the Community (NOCN Level 2)/ Dove Gardens Entrance Features
- Various art based initiatives to include salsa, arts and crafts and drama
- ICT Training – “Introduction to ICT” (NOCN)
- Teambuilding events
In Dec 2009, participants successfully completed a Personal and Social Development programme.
